Many work at home moms use their experience to help them with business. This is something that you could do. You open your life to others, and share something you know. While having a successful business, you could be doing something that you love and that makes you want to do it even more.
The question many people have is how to use their experience when working from home. What can they do to help others and how do they get started? Here are three ideas to use your experience working from home.
Mentor Others as They Struggle
While you may not have experience in mentoring, you will have experience in the situations that other people are in. As a freelance writer, I started mentoring people who wanted to become a writer. It helped to expand my business, and I was able to share my experience and help others. My experience as a mentor grew.
You can do the same thing. It doesn’t matter what your experience is in, there will be someone out there who needs your help. There will be someone who is in a similar situation to you. Use that to your advantage, and start a business around it.
Take a look around the web to see what type of mentoring people offer. You’ll find business mentors, life coaches and even productivity coaches. There will be something that fits into your experience.
Write a Book About the Subject
You may not have the confidence or time as a work at home mom to mentor right now, but that doesn’t mean your experience has to go to waste. Why not write a book about the subject? Offer your tips and your advice in the form of words on a page that others can read.
There are a lot of self-help books out there, and people constantly look for something new. They want to read about other people’s experiences, and they want to know yours.
This will require some initial work before you start making money. After all, you’ll need to get the words on the page. However, once you get it there, you’ll be able to put it all together and start selling. There are different ways of doing this, whether you do it through sites like Amazon or Smashwords or sell directly through your own website. You choose.
Blog About It All
This can be used in conjunction with other ideas, and is a great option for a work at home mom. You can break down your experience in short blog posts, and even share something on a daily basis about what is happening right now in your life—how you’re putting your previously learned skills into practise.
Blogging is a great way to get exposure too when working from home. You can promote your books through your blog or share your mentoring packages available. You’ll also be able to guest post on other people’s blogs, and reach out to a new audience.
It’s time to use your experience to start making you money. The three ideas above are great to get you started. Think about the ones that will work for you, and start helping others while you’re working from home.
I'm Alexandria Ingham, and am a work at home mommy and full-time freelance writer. Writing has always been a passion from a young age, but it was only in 2009 that I decided to use it to make money online. Since then, I've managed to make a career out of it and don't regret it. While history and weight loss are two of my favorite topics, I love writing about absolutely anything and even have fictional pieces in the works.
