Did you know that it is possible for a work at home mom to make $1,000 per month? It may not sound like a lot, but that can soon grow to $2,000, $3,000 and more. For some of those working from home, earning that first grand is the milestone to break.
I make that amount at least every single month. That doesn’t include the other job that I now have, working for Weight Watchers. While I do it all through freelance writing, there are other methods to make $1,000 per month working from home. Here are three tips to get you started.
Spread Your Eggs
Never put all your eggs into one basket. Sure, you could end up doing less work for your $1,000 per month, but you’re putting a lot of risk in that one basket. What will you do when it breaks?
Whatever your job is or whatever skills you have, make sure you spread your eggs. Having three to five baskets is great, because you don’t spread your eggs too much and you have other baskets to fall back on if one or two fold. Be on the lookout for better baskets, even while you have good ones. You never know what is out there for you.
Start Charging More
Just because you’re a work at home mom doesn’t mean you should charge a little for your work. The more you charge, the less work you have to do each month to make that $1,000.
The amount you do charge will depend on a number of factors, including the quality, the type of product/service you have and the amount your clients/customers are willing to pay. Think about your business persona—the ideal client that you’re marketing towards—and determine the best price for you.
Inform loyal customers that your rates are increasing before it happens. Give them time to get a few orders in at the lower price, then they are more likely to pay the extra.
Consider Other Products/Services
Can you add more to your work at home business? This could mean that you can increase your prices further, and gain more money from repeat clients without much extra work.
The biggest benefit of working from home and running your own business is that you have full control. You can determine how long you work, and how much work you take on. It’s up to you whether you add a new product/service to increase your chances of making $1,000+ per month.
It’s time to use your business to your advantage. Think about the products you sell, and look into the amount you charge for them. You can make $1,000 per month working from home. There are plenty of work at home moms out there that are doing it.
I'm Alexandria Ingham, and am a work at home mommy and full-time freelance writer. Writing has always been a passion from a young age, but it was only in 2009 that I decided to use it to make money online. Since then, I've managed to make a career out of it and don't regret it. While history and weight loss are two of my favorite topics, I love writing about absolutely anything and even have fictional pieces in the works.
