Game controllers, or game pads are a lot of fun to use when playing video games. These controllers were once only attached to wires and usually connected to the game console itself, such as the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo system. With the advancement of time and technology, you can now play a console with a compatible game controller, either wired, or wireless. These game controllers can come from the company themselves like Microsoft and Sony or they can be from a third party manufacturer. Game controllers have a lot of advantages and benefits for gamers. You can play a long time without risking injury to your wrist or fingers. Having a wireless game controller will not limit you to being in front of the television and you can just lean back from your couch or your chair and be more comfortable. All you need to know is a basic know-how of the USB port which is on the PC, and knowing how installation works. Xbox 360 controllers come in two types- wired and wireless. The easier to install wired controller can just be a matter of plugging in the USB end of the game pad to the receiving USB end in the PC. A pop-up on your computer monitor will confirm that the device is connected and may take a few minutes to automatically install the needed software. Once it says that the installation is complete and you may now use the controller, then fire up your favorite game and configure the Xbox 360 wired controller accordingly. The wireless version may take a few more steps. First, you will need to make sure that your wireless controller has a wireless gaming receiver. The receiver is the one that has a wire and a USB connector in the end. You will need to plug the USB in the USB port of your PC. Wait for the PC to acknowledge the hardware and usually it automatically installs the needed software. Once it is done, you are almost ready to play wirelessly. You will need to make sure that the receiver light is on, then press the circular button in the middle of your Xbox 360 controller to pair it up. When the circular button lights up on player one, it is successful. Now you can configure the buttons according to your preference, boot up the game and have a blast playing with your PC game using an XBox 360 controller!
