Good Portable Dishwasher for a Rented House

Are you looking for a good portable dishwasher for a rented house? A dishwasher is more than just a convenience item these days. For many it’s a necessity. After all, who has time to stand by a sink for at least an hour each day, especially when Energy Star rated dishwashers are readily available? Some landlords provide their tenants with the latest models or at least a unit that works as it should, while the tenants aren’t given an option, at least not by the landlord. The best portable dishwasher for a rented house depends upon how much space you have for an appliance that isn’t built-in.

My former landlord was very tight, and although I kept his house spotless and paid my rent on time, he refused to replace the 30 year old dishwasher. The door seal leaked, and he spent four hours trying to add a new seal that still didn’t stop the leak. That wasn’t the only problem. It didn’t do a very good job of cleaning the dishes anyway, and I gave up after receiving an arrogant response. He was lucky that it lasted as long as it did, but he didn’t care. He considered the replacement a loss, and he wasn’t about to install a new one for me. However, I didn’t have to go without. I started looking for the best portable dishwasher for a rented house. I wasn’t about to buy a built-in unit and contribute to his retirement fund.

Do You Have Counter Space and an Outlet Near the Sink?

The Best Portable Dishwasher for a Rented House

Before becoming engaged and planning to move out of my rental, I started searching for the best portable dishwasher for a rented house. I found one that was ideal. I had plenty of open counter space next to my sink, and it was right above the ancient dishwasher that the landlord refused to replace. Best of all, I was able to put it up on a sturdy rack, and the counter beneath was still usable for storage. I placed a small wooden cabinet beneath that I used to store my dishwasher supplies including the soap and rinse aid. It also held a can of cleanser, sponges and my neatly folded hand-knitted dishcloths.

SPT Countertop Dishwashers were my top choice after lots of comparison shopping. I wanted silver because it’s unique, but it also comes in white. I selected the model pictured to the left because it includes a delayed start feature that adjusts up to eight hours. It worked beautifully for my needs, and best of all, it was mine to keep. It didn’t matter that my landlord wouldn’t replace that old hunk of junk. I used the space to store plastic containers and off-season holiday plates. At least the racks were still good for storage. If he had removed it, I would have used the empty space to accommodate my trashcan.

At Least I Found a Good Portable Dishwasher for a Rented House

Needless to say, my former landlord was extremely cheap. He bragged about how he made his first million, but he didn’t do a good job of maintaining the home. He should have been ashamed, but it was clear that he didn’t care about his tenants. The tired, leaky dishwasher was just one of many issues. The roof leaked in the kitchen, the moldy crawlspace required two sump pumps that ran almost non-stop, and the carpeting throughout was clearance-sale pink. Certain areas of the home smelled musty, and I knew that nothing would ever change, especially the dishwasher situation. That was the least of his concerns, and it was the last straw for me. I found the best portable dishwasher for a rented house, but it no longer mattered after I became engaged. However, I wasn’t staying in that rental either way.

I Highly Recommend it to Anyone Renting a Home of Any Type

I was married about eight months ago, and as far as I know, I won’t be renting again. I invested in a good portable dishwasher for a rented house, but I didn’t consider it a loss when I no longer needed it after less than a year. I’m not stingy or worried about loss since it served a valuable purpose for the time being, and I’m not financially well-off either. I could have easily sold the dishwasher, but I gave it to my son. It seems that those with less are often the most giving of all. I think that it’s because we understand what it feels like to be mistreated and taken advantage of by those with more.

I want to recommend what I consider the best portable dishwasher for a rented house. It’s my goal to help those in the same situation that I was in. I chose it based on everything from features, size, price and capacity to appearance, and I spent lots of time reading, comparing and researching. I highly recommend the SPT model to anyone wanting the best portable dishwasher for a rented house. It’s ideal even after moving on to your very own home. It served an extremely valuable purpose in my rental home, and my son is still using it today without any problems.
