Queen Elizabeth as guest of honor

Invited to be the guest of honor at their 50th yearly celebration of the Berlin University of Technology, Queen Elizabeth flew to Germany to answer her commitment. In the university, the queen was pleasantly surprise and more than happy when a robot accosted her, smiled and did a smart salute.

Used to have humans offered her this courteous act, this however “left her amused and delighted when she saw the robotic gesture”, the report said since this is the first time that a non-human has saluted her. The original plan was for the robot to bow before her when she arrives at the University, however, its designers then changed the idea since they were afraid that the robot may fail to execute the action expected of it. It may stumble over or fall down.

A robot did  a perfect salute to the Queen

However, all those present when the queen arrived got the surprise of their life; they were all impressed seeing a non-living thing execute acts with precision. Responding to audio, the robot stood up erect when told to do so upon the queen’s arrival.

Delighted, the queen then approached the smiling robot and it gallantly saluted her. And the more the queen manifested genuine delight. Her face brightened up with a broad smile at the precise moment the robot rendered her the respect.

The guest of honor appeared satisfied with the progress in technology and no clue tells she was waiting for such a fine display of welcome from a man made thing.

She believed that the university’s technological advancement where she was invited to be the guest of honor is high.  Helpful technology is truly important. This lucky robot earns the goodwill of both its maker and the guests. It made the queen’s day and saved its designers from shame. The queen believes a robot’s helpfulness to man is inexhaustible.

Companion

On this eventful trip, Queen Elizabeth was accompanied by her husband Prince Philip, 94. Besides giving the keynote address during the university’s day of celebration, the queen and her husband were treated o engagements both in Berlin and Frankfurt, including a unique attendance in a garden party.

At Schloss Believue, the German President Joachim Gauck residence, the visiting queen was bemused with a painting of herself at aged 9 sitting upon a small horse led by her father, the late George VI. The painting was done by artist Nicole Leidenfrost based on the 1935 photo.
